Hello, Hannah here! Itβs so nice to meet you.
I am a Korean-American storyteller of words and pictures. Iβm a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design where I studied Sequential Art AKA visual storytelling AKA comics, illustration, and storyboarding.
My work crosses the worlds of story, illustration, and design. Iβve loved working with clients like Greater Good Science Center, Stocksy United, and Penguin Random House. By day, I am a designer of childrenβs books at Publications International, Ltd.
When Iβm not drawing and dreaming, Iβm usually staying up late reading a classic book, jamming to BTS, or petting my dog Marbles.
I am all about sparking wonder in people, one drawing at a time.
Wonder is the feeling you get when you learn something new- a fact, a perspective, a story- that changes the way you see the world. It can change something small- like how you make your morning matcha- or something huge- like the narrative youβve told yourself about who you are. Big or small, I believe that moments of wonder are powerful. Think about the joy and awe on a kidβs face when they learn how to make a rainbow with a hose in the sunlight or watch dolphins leap out of the water at the zoo for the first time. Wonder reminds us that there is goodness and beauty all around us, if only we have the eyes to see it. I am always looking for wonder, things that change how I view my life and how I live, and it has found its way into all of my art. My goal in all of the stories I draw is to show people something in a new light that fills them with wonder- and just maybe changes how they live.
How can I help you make something wonder-full?
What Working with Hannah Looks Like:
1: MEETING
Weβll schedule a meeting to say hi and discuss your project, vision, timeline, etc. After the meeting, I will be able to give you specific details from my end, like a price quote.
2: CONCEPTS
Based on the information from our meeting, I will send you concept sketches for different ideas I have for your project. Every project is different, but if we are creating one illustration, I will probably send you 3 concepts.
3: SKETCH
You will choose your favorite concept and we can revise it according to your input! I will then take that concept and your feedback and turn it into a detailed pencil sketch with a rough idea of color for you to approve.
4: FINAL ART
Everything will come together into a colorful, rendered final product for you! You will be able to review the project and give me final feedback for edits before I hand off the art to you!
